Arc’teryx is more than a cool outdoor clothing company. They design ultrahigh-performance gear that can “climb every mountain.” Until this year, they’d been shooting their products in a studio with outdoor sets, but recently they decided it was time to get real, get muddy, and head for the hills—and they turned to Blake Jorgenson. The locations, high in the mountains of Squamish and Vancouver, BC, were tricky to access, especially with camera gear, strobes, and computers, but that’s Blakes comfort zone, and he literally rose to the challenge. What I love about these shots is that they give the products that “hero” quality of studio photography, while also capturing the breathtaking beauty of the locations. And Arc’teryx agrees that Blake knocked this one out of the (national) park!
