Cue the cuteness.

For Shane Johnson, it’s all about the characters—whether he’s creating costumed superheros, historical figures or adorable kid-friendly critters. One of the skills that top-tier publishers, agencies, and magazines value most about Shane is his ability to take existing characters from one medium and bring them to life in another. For Penguin Random House, he did illustrations for an activity book based on Cutietos (a line of blanket-wrapped plush toys from Basic Fun) as well as several books featuring Fingerlings (a line of finger puppets from WowWee). And for Simon and Schuster, he illustrated a series of books based on Ubisoft’s game franchise and Nickelodeon animated series, Raving Rabbids. His clients rely on him to bring characters to life everywhere from editorial to packaging, point-of-sale, marketing, and more. For an illustrator, that’s a true superpower.
